Seasonal timing

Between the 36-degree January low and the 72-degree July low there's a 36-degree swing, and that yearly stretch is what works exposed joints under a pier-and-beam floor loose.

Common questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have plumbers ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that plumbing problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Plumbers see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.

People also ask

Do I need to insulate pipe under a pier-and-beam house?

It helps, and around here the bigger benefit is year-round rather than freeze protection alone. Insulation keeps hot water hot on a long run to the back bathroom, and it cuts the condensation that drips onto the ground under a cold line in humid weather.

What is water hammer and does it damage anything?

It's the shock a moving column of water makes when a valve slams shut. Over years the repeated hit works fittings loose and can crack a solder joint. Dishwashers and washing machines are the usual triggers because their valves close in an instant.

My house still has some galvanized pipe. Should all of it be replaced?

Not necessarily all at once. Plumbers usually start with the sections that have gone narrow with scale, which show up as weak pressure at one fixture while the rest of the house is fine. Partial repipes in copper or PEX are common in older homes around Notasulga and Eclectic.

Who is responsible for the sewer line under my yard?

You are, from the house out to the connection point. That's true whether the line runs twenty feet or two hundred. Ask your provider where their responsibility starts before you dig anything.
